Capilano University’s Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication is known for the quality and industry-readiness of its graduates. We are proud of our students’ success in winning provincial, national and international design and illustration awards, and of our program’s excellent record of graduate employment.

What makes us di erent? At Capilano’s beautiful North Vancouver campus, students are welcomed into a supportive cohort, and become part of a thriving network of IDEA School of Design students and graduates. Our program structure is unique: all-day classes take place in dedicated studios, ensuring high levels of peer support and faculty attention. Our goal is to prepare students for a creative career doing what they love, whether that’s design, illustration, branding, packaging, advertising, interactive, digital entertainment, or concept art. We facilitate career preparation with an immersive 8-week practicum, with hand-picked placements for each student.

Help with tools and supplies. Tuition fees for the Bachelor of Design include tools and supplies students can keep when they graduate. Examples are laptops, cameras, tripods, software, and substantial art materials for classes and workshops. We also fund GDC, RGD and Art Gallery memberships, local events and eld trips, and many other incidentals that can impact a student budget.

How do you choose the right school? Research! Our most successful students are those who’ve spoken to working professionals, as well as current students and grads from di erent programs, and who chose Capilano’s Bachelor of Design for its proven strengths: career focus, supportive environment, industry connections, and overall student success.

Call to arrange a personal portfolio review and studio tour, or attend one of our Open Studio Days in November or February. Applications for Fall 2019 begin November 2, 2018 and close April 10, 2019.
